Lots of juggling these days, as always.
Job: I officially start in 10 days, starting with two days of health region orientation. Then it's my week 'off' while Jack works and I'm back for my first full week on May 1st. I'll be seeing clients that week, packing my equipment bags, doing some more orientation stuff.
City living: I've rented a furnished 2 bedroom condo for the summer so we'll all have a place to stay when Jack and the kids come in one weekends.
Moving: I've done a huge chunk of purging and packing already, Jack has painted the bathroom and all the bedrooms - only the family room left to do. We've looked at houses online but until our own house is listed we aren't going to get serious about looking.
Kids: Kim is busy with work and school. She seems to be doing ok but we don't hear much from her. *sigh* Julia is doing firearm safety, is registered to play ball again this year, she's driving us crazy with her spring fever, is a bit anxious about moving, and has Attitude. Charlotte is enjoying kindergarten, can't wait for the snow to be gone so she can ride her bike and will be playing ball this Spring. That about sums it up.
Jack: working a bit more than he did this winter which is good. Since he drives locally and is in town several times a day I get to see him a bit more often. Nearly every day we'll meet up in a big parking lot and take some time to chat, share food, and smooch.
Us: Our 21st anniversary is next week. I've booked myself a haircut & color and a boob squish for the day before our anniversary. Jack will come with me and we'll have the day together to zip around the city. I also need to pick up Jack's anniversary gift. We didn't celebrate our 20th anniversary last year and I've asked him for something small but meaningful this year. I don't need or want anything big or showy like diamonds or 21 red roses - maybe I should give him some ideas...
Weather: winter is endless. At this rate we should have Spring by mid-May.
Midwifery: The Transitional Council is meeting next Tuesday and will decide if they'll grant me a license or not. I can't imagine any reason why I wouldn't get one but I'll rest easy once it's officially approved. We found out this week that the government didn't give any extra money for midwifery this year - not one nickel! So there won't be any new positions created in the province, there won't be any more midwifery practices start up in any new health regions, nothing nada zip. We really need a loud consumer voice this year to get things moving for next year!
CMRE: I write the national midwifery exam in about 6 weeks. Studying is NOT going well - I can find so many other things to do instead. And having time or space to study without interruption is tough too. On that note, I should go and give my books some love.
