On Saturday when I learned that my cousin, Paula was in town.  I went  down to the Black Bull and spent a few hours with her, her partner, and my brother.  It was a lot of fun. Reconnecting with my relatives has given me a new appreciation for family similarities, but it also shows me how I'm a distinct person.  It's interesting.

The pain.  It hurts.
My back has been aching for days.  Today it seems to be worse.  Ow. I've been sitting with hard books against it, which helps some.  I've been working on my assignments, in case it's psychosomatic (representing my sense that I am carrying the heavy weight of my uncompleted tasks). I'm finally starting to feel excited about the trip.  Maybe because I feel more prepared.  

• I have selected and checked my wardrobe.  It's feminine, yet comfortable and professional.

 We had an awesome walk along the beach boardwalk yesterday, after lunch at Fitzgerald's pub.  The walk was exhausting, but refreshing and fun.  Soon I might even go there with a bathing suit and do the beach thing properly.  We got back just as the sky erupted and drenched us with stupid amounts of crazy water.  A great birthday week outing.

My brother and I were supposed to go out for lunch today and again I've been blown off because of his work.  I understand that he's busy, but wow, does it ever suck that I seem to be the dispensable item on his schedule every time.  I tell myself that this isn't about me and how fun/unfun I am as a person; it's about him and his lack of ( Read more... )

 The clothing swap was packed with women.  It was easily the most packed swap I've attended.  I even saw some friends, who looked fabulous as always.  There was a ton of clothes (and I brought home some really good ones).  Dez had made a changing booth out of pvc pipe and fabric that was very impressive, even if the line was so big to use it that ( Read more... )

Yesterday was great.  After work we went to ABC books and I got three good vegetarian books I'm looking forward to reading this summer, when my work is all done.  Then we went to a used Second Spin and I got some television dvds.  Then we went to Vegetarian Haven on Baldwin St.  This was the best part of my week.  The place was romantic and ( Read more... )

I now feel fully stocked with business clothing. I've got a linen and a wool sleeveless dress in a demure length. I've got a pair of linen slacks and a pair of wool ones. I've got blazers galore. It has begun. Yesterday I got rid of some clothes that had been sitting in my office and we finally got the bed and shelves to misslynx's flat. I didn't know if we'd get that bedframe inside the vehicle.
