I'm really enjoying Kitchener.  The people I've interviewed have been amazing.  I really enjoyed talking to them and if I lived here I'd love to hang out with them and cultivate their friendship.  I've got one more interview to do tomorrow and then I'm on the train for London.

On Saturday when I learned that my cousin, Paula was in town.  I went  down to the Black Bull and spent a few hours with her, her partner, and my brother.  It was a lot of fun. Reconnecting with my relatives has given me a new appreciation for family similarities, but it also shows me how I'm a distinct person.  It's interesting.

I had an amazing time in Syracuse.  Before I left I was pretty stressed out because of a work crunch, and going to the conference felt like a pain in the ass.  But as soon as I was on the bus that all changed.  Six hours just relaxing in comfort with a great murder mystery (The Poisoned Chocolates Case by Anthony Berkeley) was just what I needed.   ( Read more... )

I booked my trip to Washington, D.C. yesterday.  Holy expensive, America.  I'll be flying into Ronald Reagan airport and staying at a Marriott close to the conference headquarters in a room I'm sharing with my boss, who is pretty cool and fun.  Although it does mean I'll have to wear pants and act professional.  I'd better squeeze a lot of learning ( Read more... )

The second half of my vacation was spent with my mother and her partner.  This was the first time I'd seen their house. I was really impressed. This is the first time in a month that I've had two days off in a row.  I'm really enjoying it.  I'm sitting around in my pajamas and watching some tv.  I've got some cartoons to draw, some cards to make, and I've volunteered to make a database of facts about the Psych characters from season 4.  I'm quite excited.
