Changes

mr_pugh  and I have bought cellphones, which are now charging in the kitchen. Yes, I know, I am now one of Those People.  I promise I will never hold a conversation on it while being served in a store.  The plan, which has been in the works for a while is to switch from our Bell landline to PC Mobile, keeping the same phone number for one of the phones.  We're sick of not being able to reach one another, which, given how rarely we're not together, is itself kind of sick.  Still, I didn't have to have that "can't reach him when I need to" experience very often to know that it sucks. He hates it more than I do, since I'm usually the one who can't be reached.

In addition, I'll be switching my internet from Bell to Teksaavy.  This may necessitate some internet down time (le gasp!).  So if I drop off the face of the internet planet in August, that's what's up.  If you need to reach me and can't through the regular channels, my work number is 416-535-8501 x7385, and my email there is margaret_robinson@camh.net.  This change will probably coincide with getting a new router, which I hope will make  mr_pugh's online gaming run smoothly. In the long run, these changes should save us money.

On Wednesday I head to Washingtn, D.C., for the American Psychological Association and the Convention and the Community Academic Research on Alternative Sexualities conference, where I'll be presenting my paper on Polyamory and Monogamy as Strategic Identities. I'm looking forward to being in the city where Bones is set.  On August 24th I'll be going home to visit my parents again.  I'm trying to convince my brother to come along, but it's kind of like trying to convince a cat to get into a carrier. Especially if the cat is also expected to pay for it and take time off work.

I bought something on Ebay for the first time. It's a plastic model kit that my dad wants.  I'm hoping it will arrive in time for my trip.

August is birthday month.  I will be turning 38.  My birthday is always enjoyable for me, even when I don't get presents.
