Goal setting
This year was my year for derby. I was going to throw myself into it and really get fit, learn more skills and play. Too much drama
I have come to the conclusion that there is too much drama in my life. I have a wide variety of sources but it also stems from my own involvement in the world. Source 1 is my mother. Neighbours
I have come to the conclusion that I would like to know my neighbours in a very distant way. I think that knowing their names and the general vibe is more than sufficient. The general feeling that they are not likely to be serial killers and that if my house was on fire I could run next door to use their phone. But that is the extent of what I want ( Read more... ) -
Anniversaries
I should be sleeping but I've had a funny old weekend. I realised on Friday that it was going to be our wedding anniversary on Monday. I texted Paul. We had both kind of forgotten. Wing Chun

Derby debut
It's 3 in the morning after my first ever derby mini bout. 2 x 20 minute halves. Work sucks
I hate my class. I don't say this lightly. The return of one boy back to the school has destroyed the fine balance I had worked so hard to achieve. His presence had made several of my other students revert back to poor behaviour and this is just too much on top of his impulsive and rude behaviour. Roller derby
Skate fast and turn left... So I think it has been just on 10 months since I have started skating. It has been quite the adventure. At first I loved the skating for the fitness but didn't really think I would find myself fitting in. Then I moved up a level, found myself fitting in but wasn't sure if the next level up was for me. Ups and downs
The up. So to balance out the ranting teacher posts of late. I have had a magical moment in the last week. I ran into an student who I had run role playing sessions for at lunchtime. He wasn't in my class but he and a bunch of his friends showed an interest and so I provided them with a fairly laid back storytelling experience using the everway ( Read more... ) -
And it continues to head downhill
A boy we had in kindy last year who was very challenging left and went to another school. He is coming back next term into my class. He sucks his tongue like a dummy, cannot sit still and is unable or refuses to follow directions. And we have no funding for him because it was assigned at the beginning of the year.
