Quick recap: Kevin met Scotty at the office, Scotty just ended a violent relationship. Kevin takes Scotty into his loft and into his heart and with some problems, into his bed. Not everybody is happy with Scotty though.
When William finds out, he bribes Scotty out of Kevin's life, but he doesn't know that Kevin actually approves of this.
Kevin proposes to Scotty on New Year’s Eve and they become domestic partners early January. Of course slowly the family discover Kevin/Scotty’s secret.
Meanwhile, William starts an affair with Holly, making Holly, who recently became a widow, believe he’s a widower. But Nora finds out about William and Holly and ultimately decides on a divorce.
Sarah has an affair with Noah, that makes Joe leave, but Noah breaks up with her.
Kitty, after breaking up with Jonathan, practically leaving him at the altar, is back in LA.
Tommy and Julia after losing their child are angry with William, because of his heartlessness when he discovers that the child wasn’t Tommy’s.
Justin, after Fawn’s tragic death, moved to the apartment-block where Kevin/Scotty live. He shares his place with Jordan, a gay friend of Scotty’s and Tyler, the female cop who was there the night Fawn died.
Through Jordan (and Mario and Quinn) Jason enters their lives. He is a Catholic priest and the brother of über-Republican Robert McCallister, … and he’s gay.
And there’s Chad, Kevin’s best friend and a porn-actor who seems to be interested in Jason and there’s Emily, Nora’s best friend, who also befriended Holly.
And last, usually forgotten, but definitely important, there’s Saul, Nora’s brother.

Oh and William died in chapter 60…. And ONE person knows this already. The others don’t.

HALFWAY APRIL 2008 - THE SATURDAYNIGHT WILLIAM DIED.
*****

It’s only when Scotty sees the lights on in Kevin’s office that he knows, he’s right. He feels lucky that Kevin had asked for a security clearance for him. With both of them working irregular hours, it’s nice to know he can see Kevin whenever he wants. And he wants to talk to Kevin now.

“Hey.” He smiles when he goes into Kevin’s office.
“Hi.” A quick kiss. “Sorry, did I wake you when I left? I tried to be as quiet as possible.”
“I missed you in bed.” Scotty replies, running his hand through Kevin’s hair.
“I’m sorry, but I couldn’t sleep. I kept thinking about my fight with my dad.”

“That is what I thought too.” Scotty smiles again. “I somehow figured that you would come here and unleash your anger and frustrations on some of your files…”
“Close enough. No, I’m drawing up the contract that will forbid my father to interfere with my life or yours again… Something like a restraining order.”

Scotty raises an eyebrow, not sure if it will accomplish anything and Kevin sighs.
“I know, it will not have judicial ground, I cannot forbid him anything. Not unless I go for a real restraining order. It’s just that… I wanted my anger and bitterness on paper, something so harsh, so venomous that dad would forever understand that I don’t want to see him again.”

Scotty watches show Kevin’s strong hands turn into fists, but at the same time they manage to display his frustration and hurt. He swallows, not knowing what to say to Kevin.
“But you know, Scotty, there are no words… not even in my own judicial language that can express my feelings for him… How much I hate him.. The words just don’t have enough poison.”

“Well, maybe your shouldn’t be looking for the cruel part of you and look at this like business-deal? An un-merger. A detachment of assets…” Scotty tries and Kevin looks at him with astonishment on his face.
“I know I made a very good deal when I married you.” He then laughs.

Scotty watches how Kevin pulls ups some documents on his screen and he takes a chair, sits down next to Kevin and together they start making the letter. It’s a very cold letter. Kevin purposely uses the most standard-sentences he can think of. It almost looks like a casually drawn up document until you read the sentences better.

The way in which Mr Kevin Walker informs Mr William Walker of the fact that all ties between them will be severed due to the breach of confidence between Mr K. Walker and Mr W. Walker, is almost a throw-away line.

Business-like it is followed by the suggestion that if Mr William Walker wishes to continue his collaboration with Carter, Wright and Dupray, this will happen through an associate of Mr Kevin Walker of William’s choosing.

Mr Kevin Walker will also return his 10% of Ojai Foods back to the family, wishing no further involvement with a family-firm that will put him in the same room as Mr William Walker. Furthermore Mr Kevin Walker must insist that Mr William Walker will never again contact either him or his husband, Mr Scotty Wandell.

By the time the terms are on paper, Kevin sighs, his anger and frustrations mostly gone by the effort he had put in the contract. He looks up at Scotty.
“Thank you for being here for me. I know it’s ridiculous, but to get my thoughts and feelings this organized on paper makes me feel like I’m in control of my life again.”

“Honey, I know that words are important to you… That is why I knew I would find you here and not somewhere else. I’m just glad you let me help you.”
“I think I’m done here. Can we go home now? I want to feel you spoon up against me and hold me.” Kevin whispers.

“Aren’t you going to send that letter?”
“No. I will re-read it Monday morning… Maybe I will post it, but most likely I will not. I needed to get it off my chest and this was the only way I could do that.” And with those words from Kevin, they close off the office and go home.

Justin counts to three before he goes in. He is straight. “Cinnamon Jack” is a gay bar. Not that it bothers him, it’s just the first time he walks in here alone, without Kevin, Scotty or Jordan by his side. He promises himself that if Jordan appears to be having fun with some guy, that he will go back home alone.

He searches for familiar faces in the crowd and soon enough he sees Mario and Quinn, dancing, and a bit further, alone at the bar, playing with his glass, is Jordan.
“So, what does a guy have to do in here to get a drink from a guy, as good looking as you are?” Justin laughs and Jordan seems pleasantly surprised when he sees who joins him at the bar.

“Oh, I’m sorry, you’re too straight.” Jordan grins.
“Bummer.” Justin shrugs. “I’ll buy the drinks then, maybe I can convince you to become straight as well….”
“This is going to be a long night, right?” Jordan asks and Justin nods with a maniacal smile.

Sarah parks her car much closer than planned. She’s still wondering whether to just ring the doorbell or maybe call him first, but then a car drives up to the house. It’s a car she doesn’t recognize, but she clearly sees who’s in the passenger seat. It’s Noah! And then, with the lights turning on on the porch, she can see that Trish is driving.

It takes Sarah’s breath away. Trish and Noah are together? She bites her lip. This cannot be happening. Not this soon. But she sees one of the children run up to the house, while Trish carries one of the other children out of the car. In the doorway, under the bright light, Trish turns to Noah and Noah kisses her. And Sarah watches, unable to grasp what is happening.

Yes, Noah has said he felt the need to get back to his ex… for the children’s sake… but this kiss is not ‘for the children’, it’s for Noah and Trish… Sarah watches the long kiss and then she sees Noah and Trish enter the house. Lights are turned on and off and finally also the lights in the bedroom disappear.

The bedroom Noah had previously shared with Trish and then with Sarah and now apparently with Trish again…. Sarah feels numb and it seems like hours have passed before she’s capable to move again.. She starts her car and slowly drives home…

Her mind is filled with questions she doesn’t dare to ask and answers she doesn’t appreciate getting. She trembles behind the wheel, feeling dirty, hurt and used. The drive home also seems to take hours, but once she’s safely parked in front of her house, she feels she can breathe again.

She quietly goes up the stairs, but can’t stand the thought of being alone in her bedroom, in that empty bed. So, after putting on her night-gown, she goes to Paige’s room and sneaks under the covers with her. In her sleep Paige turns over, puts an arm around Sarah and silently gives her mother the comfort she desperately needs.

Justin has a hard time holding Jordan up against the wall. Especially since everything is hilariously funny to Jordan right now and Jordan keeps trying to catch his breath between his fits of laughter. Justin wishes he was drunk too, so he could have just as much ‘fun’, but as usual, he’s terribly sober.

Justin manages to get Jordan into his room and on his bed. With the expertise of someone used to helping patients, he gets Jordan out of his clothes and he is about to pull up the sheets, when Jordan suddenly says:
“I sometimes wish you were gay… I’d be all over you.”

“If I were, I’d let you.” Justin replies gently.
“No, you wouldn’t.” Jordan replies positively. “If you would be gay, you’d be just as uninterested in me as all other gay guys are. You’d pick up someone hot like Jason or Chad, not someone like me.”

“Jordan, stop feeling sorry for yourself. It doesn’t suit you.” Justin replies curtly, annoyed by Jordan’s whining about Chad and Jason. He’s heard more than enough of these two and Jordan’s opinion of them wavers from hatred to idolisation. And, honestly, Justin feels that neither is worth it, if they can’t see what a great guy Jordan is.

“I really like you, Jordan, and I’m sure that one day there will be this one dude, especially for you, who’ll give you the moon and the stars and to whom you will be the most important man in the universe.”
“You think? …. Sounds good.” Jordan smiles and he closes his eyes.

Justin watches him for a few seconds, he looks so lonely and sad. And then Justin bends over and lets his lips caress Jordan’s. Stunned, Jordan opens his eyes. He’s too drunk to grasp what Justin did, yet, he could swear that Justin just kissed him. Then, thinking that what he thought just happened cannot have happened, he closes his eyes again and falls asleep.

Justin feels just as disoriented as Jordan. What did he just do? Has he lost his senses? He staggers out of Jordan’s room, feeling drunk, but knowing he’s not. He hears keys in the lock and then he registers that Tyler comes in. He can see Tyler look at him and he wonders if she thinks he’s drunk.

“I’m not drunk.” He says. “I just… I just…” He stammers.
“Yes?” Tyler is very curious. Justin looks like he just saw a ghost. For a moment she wonders if Jordan is alright, but before she can ask, Justin says, flabbergasted:
“I think I just kissed Jordan… and I’m sober.”
