Except for weaving in the tails, which I will do tomorrow as part of my final inspection, the hat is FINISHED! I ended up using my own design for the brim. I changed my brim design slightly from what I came up with yesterday. I think it looks neat-o. I decided last night that there's no way on this green Earth that my crochet project will shrink enough to make it useable. Much as I hate to do it, I'm going to rip it back to nearly the beginning and try again. This time eliminating rounds to make it smaller. So I'll try again. For the third time.

My current crochet project is running too large. I overestimated the allowance for the cotton yarn shrinking. It'll be a miracle if it shrinks enough to become the proper size. But I'm too far into the project to feel like starting over from the beginning.

I started my first lacy or open project today. A shawl made of a combination of double crochets (dc) and chains (ch). DC is a stitch I'm familiar with and reasonably good at.
