Crocheting my eyes out
Why do I always do this to myself? First I decided last week that I wanted to finish a crochet top in time to wear this coming Saturday. Then I decided that I wanted to make a shawl to wear with the top this coming Saturday. A shawl I didn't even start until Sunday. The problem is that if I crochet too long at any one session, my eyes can't focus properly for a long while afterwards when I'm finished. (Remember when your mom used to say, "Don't cross your eyes. They'll get stuck that way." Apparently when your eyes are 50 years old, that adage becomes true.) I spent 5 hours in 2 sessions crocheting yesterday. Way more than the 90 minutes per session that I normally do. I'm only about half done. If I really want to have this shawl by Saturday, I have a lot more to do. I'm such a masochist.
