Okay, so I've hit a wall.
I made it through the entire increase section and I have quite a sizable piece of knit material sitting in front of me and I'm ready to start the straight rows. Though it's a couple of rows off still, I'm really, really confused. Hopefully some of you can help me:

I'm getting ready to knit my first Clapotis.  I'm using this yarn in electric blue.

This yarn is a bit thinner than what the  pattern calls for.  I don't mind if it's a bit airier; I live in a warm climate anyway, so something more "holey" is ok.

But, I'm wondering, how to adjust.  This yarn suggests size 6 needles.  Should I use those?  The lady at ( Read more... )

The pattern calls for 7 total repeats of the full increase rows, 7 total repeats of the full decrease rows and 13 total repeats of the full straight rows. I'd like to do a modified version to fit with my Fibonacci striping sequence, conserve yarn and make it a little smaller, so I'm hoping to do 3 full repeats of the increase and decrease rows and ( Read more... )

When slipping a stitch at eh beginning of the even rows, do you slip knitwise or purlwise? And in the odd rows, do you slip purlwise? I know what I think, but I am sure you experienced clap-fans will be able to guide me in the right direction.
