When slipping a stitch at eh beginning of the even rows, do you slip knitwise or purlwise? And in the odd rows, do you slip purlwise? I know what I think, but I am sure you experienced clap-fans will be able to guide me in the right direction.

Thanks!

I slipped mine purlwise all the time, with the yarn in back on the knit side and in front on the purl side.

*shrug* Looked okay to me, but I got tired of it and stopped halfway through.

I slipped knit-wise on the knit rows and purl-wise on the purl rows. It seemed to work better that way, though some people say that you should always slip knitwise, regardless.

That is what I thought, but I googled and really couldn't get a good answer

When slipping a stitch, you always slip purl-wise unless it specifically says to slip knitwise. Therefore, all your slipped stitches will be slipped purl-wise regardless of row.

The only exception is if you are decreasing. Then, slip it knit-wise on the knit rows, and purl-wise on the purl rows. (According to Vogue Knitting.)
