I'm getting ready to knit my first Clapotis. I'm using
this yarn in electric blue.
This yarn is a bit thinner than what the pattern calls for. I don't mind if it's a bit airier; I live in a warm climate anyway, so something more "holey" is ok.
But, I'm wondering, how to adjust. This yarn suggests size 6 needles. Should I use those? The lady at

In the pattern there are repeats of the increase section and straight rows. The increase is how wide the scarf/shawl will be. The straight rows is how long it will be.
There is a womans blog (can't remember it now almost random I think) that gives a way to measure how much yarn you will use with a postage scale so you can ensure yo uahve enough yarn at the end for the decrease section.
This is not a garment so it is very forgiving, have fun with it.
