My First Clappy

Okay, so I've hit a wall.
I made it through the entire increase section and I have quite a sizable piece of knit material sitting in front of me and I'm ready to start the straight rows. Though it's a couple of rows off still, I'm really, really confused. Hopefully some of you can help me:

***Row 8: P1, remove marker, drop next st, let it drop down several rows, pick up top bar with left needle to form a new st (make sure this st isn't twisted), k this and foll st tbl, etc, so on and so forth.***

What does this mean??!?? I think I understand the first part of it, it's esentially just dropping the stitch, but the bolded and underlined part is what confuses me. What also confuses me is that it seems that there should be a lot more dropped stitches than is in this sequence of rows. Maybe I'm just not trusting it enough...but I've gotten this far already, I don't want to have to start all over from the beginning! =(

::EDIT::
I got it! I dropped my first row of stitches! =D Thanks everyone! And I'll be sure to post pictures of it once I finish.
