I have put in a request to join the yahoo group over two weeks ago but had no response. I'm interested in seeing the charts/lists that are stored in the files section there but I cannot access them because I'm not a member.
I wonder if anyone here has the charts and is willing to send them to me? I'm at crayolaab at livejournal dot com. I'm hoping to get started tomorrow.
I'm going to use Manos del Uruguay and I have two colors - one solid, and one coordinating multi. I am going to do some sort of Fibonacci striping sequence but I haven't decided if I want both ends to be solid, or one solid/one striped. I can't wait to get started - and I will be looking through this community for FO photos, too!
MTA: I have just started designing my stripe pattern and I'm running into some problems. By my count, the full-size Clapotis has 366 rows. I'd like to do either 352 rows, or 216 rows (to use a Fibonacci sequence). If I make it shorter, do I also make it wider? Can I easily cut out 16 rows (or 12, or 24? I see the pattern is worked in groups of 12 frequently)? Any thoughts?
Also I'm thinking I may need more yarn - how have people managed yardage-wise compared to what the pattern calls for? I only have four hanks of Manos right now, I might need another two? There is a post on my blog with a photo of my two striping choices, I would love it if you could look and let me know which you prefer! The entry is here:
