Noon:   I managed to get through the morning with Charlotte.  After I had a hot shower and moved around a little, my back was slightly better; sitting was iffy, lifting was out of the question, but I could at least get around, slowly.

1 pm  Jack got home (he left last night at 9 pm), he showered, and I warmed up some lunch for both of us.

Jack and the girls didn't get home from the city until between 11:30 and midnight.  I had put Charlotte down to sleep around 11, but I didn't fall asleep until well after midnight - I was so tense and I couldn't fall asleep.  She woke up at 1:50, I took her into bed to nurse her back to sleep and she wouldn't go back to sleep.  She nursed, but she ( Read more... )

3:00  She was still nursing and wide awake, but happy.
3:05  I turned my back to her and Jack tried to settle her back to sleep - didn't work.  
3:15  I left the room for half an hour but she still wouldn't go back to sleep.

Another migraine last night.  Yippee.  It started after supper and by 10 o'clock I was ready to throw up, so I took some tylenol, swaddled Charlotte tight and took her to bed with me.  She nursed to sleep but my head was still pounding, so much that it hurt to lay down and it took me another 45 minutes to convince myself to get up and take some ( Read more... )

* I went back to the gym this morning, for the first time since before Charlotte was born.  It felt soooo good, and I was surprised that I could still do the 45 minutes of cardio without feeling like I was going to die.

* Charlotte was guuuum-py today, obviously had an upset stomach because she spit up slimy barf on me so often that by tonight, I was on my 6th t-shirt of the day.  Gripe water seems to have helped and she's finally sleeping now.

 So, Charlotte and I have been in our pj's since 8 pm.  I nursed her at 7:30, 8:00, 9:00, 9:30, and 10:30, and each time she really *ate*, she didn't fuss at the breast or come off and on like she was full.  I've been doing her nighttime routine since 9 o'clock.  Two and a half friggin' hours of swaddling, rocking, shushing, nursing, patting.  I ( Read more... )
