* Charlotte was guuuum-py today, obviously had an upset stomach because she spit up slimy barf on me so often that by tonight, I was on my 6th t-shirt of the day.  Gripe water seems to have helped and she's finally sleeping now.

* Julia's teacher sent this home in an envelope this afternoon.  Apparently Julia cut her hair and hid it in her desk, and ( Read more... )

I call it her "ugly" face. When she really gets her pout on it makes the back of my hand tingle and twitch. Why I oughta.....

o_O about the hair. Was it from an obvious place? My brother shaved half his head off when he was nine. I still don't think my mum's forgiven him and he's 24!

I actually didn't notice it at first, but Julia said it's from her "bangs" that frame her face (and we've been growing out for a looong time).

When Kim was younger, she cut a chunk of hair from her bangs, right in the front and center of her natural part. She cut it so that it was about 1/4" short! Took forever for that hair to grow back and many, many months of bobby pins and barrettes.

Hi,

I've been reading your blog for several years now. I hope you don't take this the wrong way but have you ever considered having Julia evaluated by a professional? Maybe a therapist or children's psychiatrist? She's been through a lot in the last few years and from your posts about her behavior it seems like maybe she could use someone like a therapist to talk to. Once again, I hope I'm not being offensive. My kids are in therapy and my youngest has some serious emotional and behavioral issues which is why I mention this.

Yes, Julia was evaluated back in June and she's seeing a counsellor/psychologist. Her behavior has escalated in the past couple of years and it's easy to understand why. What I don't know is how exactly to deal with her, how to get through this so that we have our sweet Julia back again. Some days, she's truly unlikeable :-(

ohhhhhhh---we'd call that "mean looks" and tease her till she laughed.
We see looks like that here too, and I always tell them "whatever you do, do NOT smile! nooooo, please do NOT smile..." and so on, all serious.
ALWAYS gets my kids to smile, and forget their tantrum.

and I agree, motherhood is NOT for wimps!
great job being a non-wimp!!!!
