Abby was born on June 9th, died on June 10th, had her autopsy on June 12th, and came home to us on June 13th.

I was away from home yesterday but all day I would have moments of remembrance, knowing that it was two years ago yesterday that Abby came home.  My house has so many wonderful memories, and even the sad memories are treasured.  Often when I ( Read more... )

An elderly lady from our church died this week and her funeral was today, at our church.  I think this is the first funeral I've been to since Abby died, and the fact that it was at our church as well, made it especially hard.  I concentrated on the differences between this funeral and Abby's; Vera had a large oak casket, Abby's was tiny and white. One of our local funeral homes is owned by a couple who attends our church.  They were the people who handled Abby's funeral and burial, and they were very kind and supportive.  A few weeks ago, this couple was sitting across the aisle from me at church and I happened to notice the husband's hands.

As I was driving to the city yesterday with Kim and Julia,  I started thinking again about car seat placement once this baby comes.  With only two seats in the middle row of our van, we had decided to put Abby in the middle row and Julia (in her car seat/booster seat) in the way back.  Having two car seats in the middle row would've made getting in ( Read more... )

The newspaper came out today with Abby's obituary, memorial, and a thank you in it.  I bought two copies of the paper.  Very hard to see it all in print but I'm glad it's out there for everyone to see.
