* Abby's memorial was in the paper today.  I wasn't sure I had beat the deadline for submissions, but I'm glad it made it.

* Jack had a break in his work day and came home for a hot lunch with Charlotte and I, then did some errands with us too.

I worked today and I had to go down to the nurse's station a few times today, walking past the LDRP where Abby spent most of her life, and the room where I waited while they worked on her.  Then tonight, I had to recert my CPR.  It isn't as bad as doing NRP, but doing CPR on a baby doll, especially right now.....is kind of awful.

For the birth junkies, here's an article about a satisfied midwifery client in Saskatchewan.  Both of the midwives mentioned in the article were at Abby's birth, and Rosalind was also there for Charlotte's :-)

While I was on my way to attend a homebirth in Saskatoon, the Saskatchewan Government was making this announcement.

Basically, it finalizes the Midwifery Act, so midwives will now be able to provide legal, funded midwifery care in homes and hospitals.  Until now, midwives could only deliver babies at home, clients paid for services on their own dime ( Read more... )

Our community paper is published every Monday so this week I arranged to have a memorial in it for Abby.  I wanted people to remember her, remember that we are still grieving, and be reminded that this baby cannot and will not replace Abby.

The newspaper came out today with Abby's obituary, memorial, and a thank you in it.  I bought two copies of the paper.  Very hard to see it all in print but I'm glad it's out there for everyone to see.
