I'm back in Massachusetts now. The drive from New Hampshire on Sunday afternoon took under three hours, rather than the six hours during the storm Friday. We had a great extended family dinner last night, and then I got to meet my puppy nephew Schnitzel for the first time. ( puppy pics )

For the past week, I've been actually editing: revising, adding, deleting, and so on. I'm feeling good about how the second draft is coming along so far, and the process is moving pretty smoothly overall. Today I went to the library to do some novel research. Mostly I checked out bird books (thanks to achyroptera for the advice!) to help me out with certain details. The remaining research I need to do is mental -- I have to muse on some questions about the characters and backstory and decide on the correct answers.
