I got a call this morning from The Bun's school telling me he was having a bit of diarrhoea and could I come and get him? I wasn't surprised since it's clear that the stomach bug has made a new home in him. There's a stomach bug passing through our home now. I think I was patient zero, ill right after we returned from vacation. Then over the weekend Bao began refusing food and ran a fever that thankfully, only lasted a day. The diaper blowouts began shortly after that and as of today, are still ongoing. Over the last few days my cough got so bad and my chest hurt so much that it was painful for me to bend over, lift my arm up, or stretch. I must be a really mean mother for Bao to have screamed and cried so much in the last few days that she is on the verge of going hoarse; I must be even meaner for giggling every time I hear her babble in that raspy voice of hers. We spent $400 at the paediatrician today - the most money we've ever spent for either of the kids' medical fees ever. If either of them ever want to be a doctor when they grow up, I'd suggest that they become either a paediatrician (especially one who opens on Sundays and charges extra for it!) or a vet. Bao had her well baby check-up and a bunch of vaccinations yesterday. She took it all in stride, including the actual needle poke.
