It's Day Four since her fever began and today Bao woke up from her nap with her face half-covered in a flat, pinky rash. Her tummy also has them but not the rest of her. Today is also the first day where her temperature hasn't gone past 38ºC. We didn't manage to get an appointment with the doctor on Friday so in the absence of any medical advice ( ( Read more... )

That painful muscle tear in my chest is back, and this time it's on both sides of my chest, right on my ribcage. It hurts pretty bad when I lie down flat, and I have no idea how I'd ever fall asleep at night except that the good doctor gave me some codeine pills the last round and that knocks me out for the night. The Bun is the latest rider in our merry-go-round of fevers, runny noses, and coughs. He very rarely has a fever, so when he came home from school yesterday and refused his afternoon snack and went to lie down in his bed instead, I knew something was up. Last night wasn't great. Bao slept till about 3am and fussed on and off thereafter. I got up to give her a bottle at 3.30am and that more or less marked the end of any proper sleep for me too. I can't wait for this flu bug to be out of our household. Both Bao and I remain sick, but Bao's really got the short end of the stick. Her temperature has not gone down since Sunday night, even when she has a dose of fever medication. It's not as high as it was a couple of days ago, but it definitely isn't normal yet.
