That post-holiday mountain of laundry took FIVE loads in the washer to conquer. Yes, five. Okay, so I also washed Bao's coat which still smelled a bit like puke but she's so small it's not like the coat was that big either right? I read that early year babies like January apparently do better, which makes sense if the school year starts in January, but then I wonder how (especially since it seemed like the report was from a western origin) that would work when their school year starts in the fall? Or do they take in say, babies born from Sept this year to August the next, and not by calendar year?

It's not by calendar year - the cut-off birth date for registration is the end of August. So I guess January and February kids do better because they've still got all this time to 'grow up' before formal schooling begins. Compared to his peers, The Bun is positively tiny!

So.. Does that mean like September babies will be the oldest in their batch?

yes, in Europe, and US (also Australia and South Africa, I think), September born children are oldest in the year and August born are youngest.
