Word race for September, sort of
I'm going to run another word race. I'd planned to do it for September, but I was busy at work and time slipped away. Also, one of the usual participants is away at DragonCon. Day trip to Arbor Low Stone Circle
Arbor Low Stone Circle is an ancient momument, approximately 3,000 - 6,000 years old. It's about an hour-and-a-half drive from home -- I can't say for sure, having taken a couple of wrong turns getting there. :-D) This site is on a private farm, which means you get to walk through a farm and some of its fields to get there. Purple bling bolero
I recently bought The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller. It's chock-full of fantastic crochet patterns. There's a lovely little bolero jacket that I want to make with some Very Expensive yarn. I'm also going to make it much longer than the pattern calls for, and it won't technically be a bolero so much as a cardigan. I bought some Very Inexpensive ( Read more... ) -
It had better be a girl!
A friend's sister is having a baby, and he mentioned wanting to give them something special and handcrafted. My friend also doesn't make very much money, so I volunteered to crochet a baby blanket for the cost of materials. My friend has been assured that the baby is a girl, and it just better be, because I indulged my love of pink!

Growling in Three-Part Harmony

A houseful of grumpy cats
So who noticed the plural there? Yep, I haz katZ now. Three of 'em, all grumpy as sin.

Falling down stairs...
...is generally not a good thing to do. My ankle has been repeating this refrain for almost 24 hours now. But, yanno, it could've been lots worse.

Projects projects!
So my fingers have been busy busy working on crochet projects, thanks to e_moon60 and her posts about knitting. This week, I crocheted my first-ever garment, a super-duper easy shawl.
