There's a first time for everything. I fell off Red today! I was coming towards a jump and he stopped in front of it. No problem there. But then he changed his mind and jumped! This summer the barn where I ride is hosting a low-key horse show. So to prepare for it, yesterday Cat, Angie, and I (it's hard to find volunteers here in the summer since all the students are back home) started to paint some jumps. I forgot to mention... Last night Josh and I played tennis and I won the match again. This time it was a little more difficult, but I made it. I also wore my tennis outfit for the first time (a cute skirt and matching shirt). This must have helped. But Josh always takes a long time to warm up. When he is ready to kick ass, I'm already tired!

Leasing Red has been great fun so far. I spend as much time cleaning his stall as riding him, but that's part of taking care of a horse, so I don't mind. The only thing I wish they had as the barn is some pastures where I could let Red run free. They only have the ring to let the horses loose, and it's not often available ( Read more... )

I was looking for a picture of Nina that I could print in an 8X10 format and send to my mother. It saddened me to find that I really don't have that many pictures of my mom's dogs (I consider them my dogs too since I lived at home when we got them), and I wasn't able to find any that stood out. Josh and I spent Memorial Day weekend in St. Louis. We went to a baseball game and visited a few friends. The weather was wonderful. If you don't already know it, I love Busch Stadium and am very sad that it will be torn down at the end of the season. To me, that's something very American. Josh got most of the afternoon off thanks to Memorial Day weekend. For some exercise, he took his bike to the barn while I drove.
