Leasing Red has been great fun so far. I spend as much time cleaning his stall as riding him, but that's part of taking care of a horse, so I don't mind. The only thing I wish they had as the barn is some pastures where I could let Red run free. They only have the ring to let the horses loose, and it's not often available

I've jumped with Colza last Tuesday, it was awesome. There already were "obstacles" ready, even the cross-ish one to warm up. She was calm and had exacly the righ pace/rhythm and speed to match with the distance between the obstacles. Either I'm very good at it (which I doubt because it's been ages since I have seriously done jumping) or she just has it in her (or still has it). I'll try to take pics of her jumping free.
Thanks to Josh for the pics :-) Isn't he tempted to ride too?

It's great that you jumped with Colza. I'd love to see that! I take lessons once a week with Red and I jump then too (I'm not allowed to jump unsupervized, which is fine because I have many more things to work on). He's more difficult to handle than Andi, but he's what I need at this point. He gets very excited and goes super fast, but I'm starting to enjoy that!
It must be quite something to jump with Colza seeing how big she is! How fun!
I've asked Josh several times if he didn't want to try to ride again. I told him I would even pay for a lesson just for him to try to get into it. But he's not interested. The few times he rode he didn't really find it fun. I guess it's not his thing. But it has to become if I want to own a horse (I need a helping hand to ride when I'm too busy/tired!!!)! Any tips on how to convince him?

And Grrrrrr at the barn/bedding changes and prblems you've had; I would have been gutted if I had made a new bedding for my horse and someone else would have used it without even asking....
Colza is not that big :-D Red isn't small either, is he? It's ok to jump with her because first I don't put the fences too high and then I always take a part of her mane in my hands so that I'm sure to follow the jump properly. As I don't jump often, I'm not used to it anymore and I don't want to hurt her by doing bad moves with my hands. Also, she's very good at that :-)
I can't tell you how to convince Josh. I've got friends who tried to convince their "significant other" that horse-riding was fun, but it didn't work. It seems that some people just aren't made to be on a saddle. They can't get past the uncomfortable and fear feelings...

I really need to grab some mane too. I keep forgetting!
We'll see about Josh. Maybe I'll drug him and put him on a horse one day.
