-

His eyes suddenly widened at the thing that was actually lying on his couch.

“Jin!”

He suddenly stood up from his position on the couch and stared at Jin’s body that was actually lying comfortably on his couch.

At first he wasn’t really sure if it was really Jin or not so he rushed across the living room to turn on the lights. And his eyes didn’t deceive him from the beginning. He looked at the couch and saw Jin casually stirring to find another comfortable position in his slumber.

Kazuya shook his head while chuckling quietly. He doesn’t really know what to feel right now. It’s a mixture of everything actually: he doesn’t know whether to be pissed, annoyed, happy or just simply indifferent like it’s the most normal thing in the world.

He walked towards Jin and stared at him. After that, he unconsciously went to his room to get some blanket for Jin. It was already late and he knew how far Jin had been just to go here. He went back to the living room and covered the blanket around Jin. He then went back to his room and tried to think about what he could say to Jin now that he found him.

He was happy though.
Happy that Jin went through all this day just for him to be found.
Unless of course he blackmailed Ueda into saying that he was really here.

Damn.

-

Jin blinked repeatedly as he woke up from his sleep. His eyes tried to adjust to the light that was present in the room he was in.

Where am I?

His eyes scanned the room until his memory switched back to normal and finally remembered where he was.

I’m really in…Kazuya’s apartment?

He reached up one of his hands to rub his eyes to believe that what he’s seeing around is true. In doing so, the blanket fell off him that once gave him warmth. He picked it up once again and managed to smell Kazuya’s scent off them. He smiled at this and finally sat up.

It was obvious that it was already morning in Kazuya’s place and thank God it was already the start of the weekend. His eyes scanned the apartment yet again to search for the person he’s looking for. He frowned when his eyes failed him and just leaned back on the couch.

He sat there for a few minutes until he smelled something really good coming from the kitchen. His stomach was already growling and without any second thoughts, he quickly rushed to the place he thinks is the kitchen.

Food, food!

It’s amazing how such a situation like this, when it comes to food, he just couldn’t resist and won’t think of anything else.

He stopped dead in his tracks when he finally reached his destination. His mouth opened wide in agape when he saw what he was looking for these past months standing with his back turned to him.

“Kazuya…” Jin whispered softly but it was loud and clear enough to make the person who was called turn and look at him.

Once Kazuya turned, their eyes met for a moment and it seemed that time stopped once it happened. Neither said anything for awhile until Kazuya’s lips curved into a small smile and said, “I see you’re already awake.”

He turned back to his cooking and finished it. “You know you can sit, Jin.” Kazuya said as he took out two mugs and prepared coffee for the both of them. Jin bit his bottom lip and decided just to follow what Kazuya told him. He pulled out a chair and sat on the table, waiting for Kazuya to finish so they could talk. Properly, he hoped.

-

Silence filled the dining area as Kazuya prepared their breakfast while Jin was waiting quite uncomfortably. The silence between the two was really annoying him and at the same time it was really uncomfortable and awkward and he didn’t know what to say first once the other’s already done.

“Um…” Jin started unsure as he looked at Kazuya’s direction. “I can help you out, you know.” He said.

“No, it’s alright. I’m almost done, anyway,” was Kazuya’s response and Jin had no other retort to that so silence fell upon the both of them again.

Kazuya breathed heavily as he got the two mugs and carried them over to where Jin’s sitting, giving him one of the coffees. He went back to the counter and got both plates of pancakes and also placed one in front of Jin and sat down across him after that.

“T-Thank you for this,” Jin wasn’t really much in the mood to eat anymore for various reasons. He wasn’t sure how to act in front of Kazuya after what had happened 10 months ago. Surely something like that isn’t easily forgotten in just a span of 10 months, right?

Kazuya stirred his coffee slowly as he finally started their conversation. “What are you doing here?”

It was no surprise to Jin that the other asked that question. He sighed heavily as he tried to organize his thoughts to what he’s going to explain to Kazuya.

“Yuki wants you back.”

-

“Uncle Pi, is Daddy home yet?” Yuki asked weakly as he turned his head and looked sadly at Yamapi who was sitting beside his bed.

The past few weeks, months rather, Yuki started to get a fever that seemed to increase everyday. Everyone in the Akanishi mansion was already starting to panic because the same situation happened to Yuki’s mother which was the start of the disease that caused her to die-and no one wants Yuki to also go through that pain and tragedy.

Yamapi looked back at him and smiled as he rubbed his hair softly.

“Not yet, Yuki. But I’m sure your Daddy would be back soon,” He tried to encourage the little kid who slowly nodded. “Is he coming home with Mommy?” Little Yuki asked silently and inside he deeply hoped and wished for both of his parents to come back.

Even if he knows already that Kazuya isn’t his real mother, he still wants him to be back because only from him would he get and accept a mother’s love.

Yamapi thought of his question really hard until he just grinned again. “Hopefully he will. Your Daddy promised you, right? And he never breaks his promises so I’m sure your Daddy is trying his best to get Mommy back.”

Yuki smiled at that as he gleefully nodded and held Yamapi’s hand.

“Mommy’s going to come back because she loves me, right?” He asked again and Yamapi nodded as he bit his lip.

“Yuki, are you hungry? I’ll just go and fetch you something to eat. A sick child like you shouldn’t skip meals.” Yamapi smiled as he stood up and went for the kitchen. “I’ll be right back,” He grinned and left.

-

Five months after Kazuya left them, Yuki started to get really sick and weak. At first Jin thought it was the usual coughs and colds and gave him the usual treatment whenever he gets sick but eventually it seemed that the sickness didn’t stop.

“Oh Yuki, what’s wrong with you?” Jin frowned sadly as he looked at the child who was lying on the bed.

Little Yuki’s face was really pale and he looked really awful and pitiful. “Daddy…” Jin held his son’s hand and caressed his hair gently. “Yes? Is there anything you need?” Yuki tried to answer but his voice failed him that time so he just frowned and said nothing.

Jin sighed. “Rest first, Yuki. Get better soon, okay?”

Weeks after that, Yuki’s situation didn’t get any better and have gotten worse actually. That was the time when everybody really started to panic because of the fear of losing him because of the same situation he’s experiencing now that is similar to what his mother was experiencing before.

“Daddy, did Mommy leave because of me?”

Yuki asked weakly when Jin was in his room once. Jin turned and smiled at his child and said, “Don’t you ever think that, Yuki. You know your Mommy loves you very much. It’s just that, Mommy and Daddy…had a misunderstanding, that’s all.”

“Did Mommy and Daddy fight because of me?” Yuki frowned, his voice raspy from his sickness.

Jin sighed as he sat beside his son’s lying body. “Listen to me Yuki, none of this is your fault, do you understand? Mommy left because that’s what Mommy decided and it’s never your fault that she did.”

He heard Yuki mumble a soft “oh” before looking back at him again. “I miss my Mommy, no one sings to me anymore and no one tells stories to me anymore. I want my Mommy back,” Yuki started sobbing quietly until Jin hugged him close to him.

“I’m still here Yuki, don’t you want that?” Jin smiled a bit but he only got Yuki’s sniffles and sobs in return.

Silence filled the room for a second until Yuki said, “Can you bring Mommy back, Daddy? Please?” His tone was really of pleading and desire that he’s really going to explode if he won’t get it.

“I-I’m not sure if Mommy still wants to, son,” Jin says. I don’t even know where in the world is he, he thinks as he hugged his son closer to him.

“Can you at least try?” Yuki pleaded and Jin sighed.

“Okay, I promise. But I don’t think Mommy’s going to come back if you’re still sick,” Jin tried to make him happy because of that.

“Then I promise that I’ll try my best to get better soon so that Mommy would come back soon,” Yuki swore as his strength finally left him and he fell into a deep slumber.

-

Jin closed the door behind him and he found Yamapi walked towards him.

“How’s Yuki doing?” Yamapi asked worriedly but Jin just said, “He’s still the same. But he told me what he really wants awhile ago.”

“It’s…Kazuya, isn’t it?” Jin nodded. “What are you going to do about it now?”

“I’m…going to find him, if not for me, then for Yuki.”

“You already love him, don’t you?” Yamapi said but Jin didn’t react to that but just said, “I don’t know how to find him.”

Yamapi thought for a moment until something, or rather someone blinked in his mind.

“Ueda.”

-

“And that’s it? Yuki wants me back so you went here to come back for me and pretend to be his mother again?” Kazuya said frankly as he drank his coffee.

“No one said you were going to pretend to be his mother again, Kazuya, he already knows the truth,” Jin stated.

So that’s it.
Jin only came back because Yuki needs me.
How stupid of me to think that he came back because he needs me too.

Kazuya thought of it sadly as he placed his mug down and cleared his throat. “Listen to me Jin, first of all, I don’t know how you got into my apartment or even know that I’ve been staying here-“

“But I can explain-“

“…and second, I don’t want Yuki to grow up with the thought in his mind that everyone can just pretend to be someone’s family member, that’s dangerous.” Kazuya said.

…and I don’t want to hold my feelings for you while living with you again. It’s just. Wrong. I’m sorry, Jin.

I can’t help it anymore.
I’ll fall even harder when I continue to stay with you again and what’s going to hurt is to know you won’t love me back.

“Kazuya, he’s been really ill these past few months and we think that the only cure to his sickness is if you come back for him!” Jin was starting to get angry because of how selfish he thought Kazuya would be.

What? Kazuya’s eyes widened at that. His grip on the mug tightened when he heard about it. “You…You can take care of him. That’s impossible. You’re bluffing.” He said.

“It’s a child we’re talking about here! He’s been motherless ever since and he still wants you back even if he knows that you’re not his real mother. He wants you back because he felt the love of a great mother from you which I know he can feel different about me.” Jin explained and in his voice, a tint of pleading was already there.

Up to this time, Jin wasn’t sure if he was pleading not only for Yuki, but for himself as well.

“That’s so foolish of you to think that, Jin. He got over his own mother’s death, I’m sure he’ll get over me, as well.” Kazuya said as he looked down at his coffee. But suddenly, Jin said something that made him strain and look up at him again.

“…What about me, Kazuya?”

Huh?

“W-What about you Jin?” Kazuya stuttered as he didn’t quite understand what’s already going on.

“Yuki may get over you but I’m sure I can’t,” Jin whispered low as he slowly placed his mug down.

“I don’t understand what you’re talking about,” Kazuya’s voice was low and his heart was already pumping fast when he saw Jin finally leaning over the table.

“Maybe all I’m trying to say is that…” Jin leaned in closer until their faces were inches apart. “…I love you, Kazuya.” And he captured the younger one’s lips in a chaste kiss.
