One of the many things I miss about working in New York City is being able to rustle up some friends at the last minute to go have cocktails after work. So, it's been about a month now that I've been taking an anti-depressant and I have a follow-up appointment with the psychiatrist to determine if it's working.  I kind of wish we could do this via conference call or something because I hate having to schlep myself into D.C. for 60 minutes of "tell me how you feel" time.

Sometimes I totally forget I'm at work when I have my iPod on and start singing along ... loudly.

So, friend Alex's parents are away, as is her roommate.  In order to make her feel less lonely, we had a slumber party on Friday night, at my urging.  I'm not exactly sure why I thought a slumber party with three grown women was appropriate or normal, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.
