I had a tooth pulled in December--it turned out I was walking around with a massive abscess for years after a tooth quietly died--so I didn't do a lot of Christmas cards. But, I did doodle this quickly to give to my helper :-) I'd like to make it into a larger, more polished image someday.

Peaches!
This 8x10" portrait of Peaches the cockatiel is my belated half of an art trade with a friend who drew Muffin's portrait. I tried making a digital composition of her bird. Parrot Palooza Sketches!

Life in the Birdhouse
Just trying to do a little catchup here...a recent photo of Will, our only bird and one that we call "Budgie Survivor" because he has outlived all the other birds. He's still wild. Parrot Palooza!
I had an art table at Parrot Palooza, hosted by the Calgary Parrot Club yesterday. Originally the show was supposed to be in a community hall, but they switched it to the new VCA vet hospital down the road from us. I tell ya, I’ve never seen such a fancy place! What The Fluff? Hundreds of budgies surrendered!
This story has been going around Facebook and Twitter all yesterday and I can't quite wrap my head around it.
836 budgies were surrendered in Detroit, Michigan, yikes! You can watch a news clip at this link, which has links to the rescue organizations working together to help the birds and accept donations.
