I had a tooth pulled in December--it turned out I was walking around with a massive abscess for years after a tooth quietly died--so I didn't do a lot of Christmas cards. But, I did doodle this quickly to give to my helper :-) I'd like to make it into a larger, more polished image someday.

Just wanted to note that my budgies are eating Harrison's lifetime mash! It feels like a big accomplishment since the vet wanted me to aggressively change up their diet because of Chirp's liver disease ( Read more... )

Just trying to do a little catchup here...a recent photo of Will, our only bird and one that we call "Budgie Survivor" because he has outlived all the other birds. He's still wild. It seems like Muffin and Will are trying to become friends and so far so good. It's hard to tell, to be honest! Muffin and Will do recognize that they are birds, but they can't figure out the body language at all. I think Will must have tried to feed Muffin because Muffin shrieked and flew away in a panic while I was working at the kitchen table. ( Read more... )

We had a surprise visit last weekend from a friend who brought us a copy of a card game called Trash Pandas, some chocolate and the awesome budgie plushie below. It's Sweetpea from The Secret Life of Pets! I just love it :-) My friends know me so well!

My parakeet pal thagirion sent me a new flock member! I love it. He fits right in with the other budgie shaped things around here :-) A lot of them are quite lovely, but they don't capture the budgie personality like this little guy. It reminds us both of Jojo <3.
