This week has been fairly dull as I am on Passover Break (woo!), so I've been going on plenty of walks and... that's about it. Arrrgh, it's been a very lonely week and I haven't been treating myself very well, by which I mean I have been treating myself very well by consuming too much chocolate. At least it's dark! This weekend was quite hectic even in the quiet neighborhood of Yorkville, where Saint Patrick's Day revelers flooded in and out of our many Irish pubs from Friday night to Sunday night. On Saturday, I went with Daniel and some of his work buddies to a restaurant where they carb-loaded for their half-marathon on Sunday (the crazies!). They were really nice, but I can see what he means about not having much in common with them. Last night I auditioned for the Oratorio Society of New York, and got in! I made a mess of the sight-reading, but my vocalization went well. This is going to sound incredibly cheesy, but I feel like Trader Joe's has given me back my food freedom! The two grocery stores in our neighborhood carry completely different things and so have no competition therefore prices are very high. Yesterday I tried out the food processor my parents got me for Christmas. Oh, the power! I thought about asking for a Kitchen Aid mixer, but those are so expensive and I've had people (even frequent bakers) tell me they use their food processor more. It's fun to use, and I hope I use it often enough to justify its now permanent place on our counter ( Read more... ) -
