Hurricane
Yesterday’s forecast had Earl moving up the west coast of Nova Scotia. This morning, he’s shifted east and is now hitting the South coast. Looks like the eye will pass over Lunenburg, or maybe even over Halifax. The news is reporting that the eye will move on land around noon.

Fish CSA
A friend and I joined this fish CSA. Basically we’ll get 4-6 pounds of select ground fish for the next 8 weeks. The fish on offer are Pollack, Hake and Haddock, all fished from hook and line. We are assuming they are not offering cod because of the optics, there is a limited fishery or really they are permitted to land the by-catch, even though cod ( Read more... ) -

Happy Canada Day
I started this morning by going to the international tattoo parade. It was a really nice, sunny day, so it was quite pleasant to sit out and watch the marching bands and I loved the bagpipe band at the end. Virtual Shopping
I’m thinking of splurging on these two coats, which are on sale. Really I need pants, but these caught my eye.
I’m a little worried about the cream/ beige colour of this coat. It is boiled wool, so I’m not sure how washable it is.

Snow half day... so far
