Happy Canada Day
I started this morning by going to the international tattoo parade. It was a really nice, sunny day, so it was quite pleasant to sit out and watch the marching bands and I loved the bagpipe band at the end. Sadly, someone up the road stepped out in front of me when I went to take a picture, so instead of a nice picture of the bagpipe band coming down the road, I have a random picture of the back of someone calves.
Officially, my new job starts today, but being a holiday, I didn’t have to go in. I will go in tomorrow, but I expect to be the only person in the building tomorrow. I’ll make a few to-do lists and maybe start on re-arranging my office. I have an inkling of how I want to re-arrange it, but it involves moving bookcases, and the books that are currently arranged on the shelves.
A friend moved across the country and returned my TV to me, and so I’ve been watching TV with ads at night. I keep seeing this ad with a mouse coming out of a coconut shell and hunting blocks of cheese- the cheese either ends up with arrows in it or dangling in a net. It ends with a picture of a giant slurrpy cup of orange liquid and a banner that says ‘Tropical Cheddar in stores now’. WHAT? Is someone really selling liquified cheese? Mixed with ice? Could that sound any worse? Have any of you seen this?
Strawberry season is in full swing here. I love summer fruit!
