Chapter 22 - Ready? Action!
Summary:
Kim Jaejoong owns a construction company and that forces him to do business with the mafia even if he himself tries to remain within the law. However, some of the mafia men don’t appreciate that and keep threatening him. That’s why he hired Changmin, Junsu and Yoochun who are responsible for his security.
Jung Yunho is a cop specialized in domestic violence and sex crimes. During the chase of a sex offender he found himself thrown in a bigger investigation involving a paedophile/mafia man named Kim Jaejoong. As if that wasn’t enough he’s being framed for the murder of the sex offender and the mafia is blackmailing him with the evidence on his innocence to do one job for them: kill Jaejoong. Why? Because even the mafia wants him to bring down Kim Jaejoong.
And so their paths collided.
Warnings: mention rape and abuse, some violence, smut.
Pairings: Yunjae, little hints of Yoosu

Chapter 22 - Ready? Action!
Flashback
Yoochun really wanted to punch something or someone at this point. He kept his watch on his prey, determined that this one would not get away. Soon Changmin arrived as well. (…)
The two bodyguards and their men followed the suspicious man through the streets at a safe distance, coordinating trough their ear piece radios. When the man entered a love motel, they spread the guards to cover the exits and went in.
End of flashback
…
The guard that had been tasked with checking the hospitals returned to the house and went to report to Junsu. He had an interesting story to tell. He handed Junsu several papers. Among them the security camera pics of the old man and of Yunho he had used as his only lead to ask around. But most important was the copy of the hospital files on the old man. It contained the last two years of the patient’s history along with little details like the name of who to contact.
Junsu’s eyes widened as he realised the guard had used that to also bring Yunho’s file. He complimented the guard on a job well done and asked him to keep this information secret. He looked at the screen where he could see an empty corridor and the closed door of Jaejoong’s bedroom. Then with a thoughtful look he stared at the line marked profession.
…
Yoochun and Changmin silently approached the door. With their guns raised, they broke inside the room. Two very naked women shrieked and scampered to leave the room. The two men silently stared at the shirtless man on the bed who raised his hands up.
-Who are you? What do you want?
-We want to chat with you. Know a guy named Yunho? - Asked Changmin.
An unmistakable flash of surprise gave the bodyguards all the confirmation they needed.
-Why did you sent him after Kim Jaejoong? Who is your boss?
-Ah, come on, guys. Be nice. How can you interrupt a dude when he’s trying to get laid? And with some stupid story? Get those guns off my face! I don’t know what you’re talking about!
-Start talking while we are still just asking, if you know what’s good for you.
-What? You two pretty boys going to hit me? I’d like to see you try. It’s been a while since I had myself some sexy male ass. I specially adore sticking my dick up guys who top. Are you two pretty things toppers? You are a bit old for my taste but I can make an exception for those pretty faces. Get those guns off my face!
Changmin fired a shot at the bed, near the man’s feet. However the man didn’t budge, didn’t even flinch. He just stared back at them and lowered his hands.
-Start talking. Who’s your boss?
-Don’t make me laugh. You think you scare me just cause you’re holding guns?
…
Downstairs the guy at the reception smiled at the money the two tall men in suits had given him and picked up his phone. While he talked on the phone, he turned off the few security cameras the hotel had and erased the footage from that day. Then he just turned his back to the front door and continued watching the girl group performing on the small tv in his cubicle.
In a few minutes there were sounds of gunshots outside and some men raced upstairs.
…
Hearing gunshots outside in the street, Yoochun turned his attention to the door while Changmin yelled at the man to keep still.
-Keep an eye on him. I’m going to check outside. - Said Yoochun before leaving the room.
-You two are out of your depth.
-Shut up and don’t move. I have no problem killing you.
The thug just sat back against the headboard, legs crossed in front of him, hands behind his head and smiled. He looked like he was just patiently waiting for something as if he had all the time in the world.
Meanwhile, as Yoochun was approaching the stairs, one of the guards raised the alarm on their ear piece radios:
-We are being attacked. At least eight armed men. Four are going up.
Yoochun stopped near the stairs and listened. He could hears footsteps fast approaching. As soon as he caught sight of the first man, he fired. He kept firing to prevent them from moving forward. Several times he was almost hit. And he couldn’t get a good view to do more than fire warning shots.
-Report!
-I have two men unable, one seriously wounded. I don’t know where the enemy went. I only have one confirmed on my sight. Repeat. Three more enemies on the loose.
-Shit! Changmin, we’ll have to leave. Changmin, do you hear me?
…
Two armed men were climbing up the fire escape. As soon as they reached their destined window, they observed the room. Inside, their boss was sitting comfortably on the bed, unharmed. At the door, a young man in a suit was pointing a gun at him.
-Talk. Who is your boss?
-Don’t make me laugh. Your act is entertaining but it is getting old. You need to change your routine. And if you want to live, I seriously advise you to start running.
Changmin listened as their men said they were under attack. Suddenly a feeling of being watched sent a shiver down his spine. He looked closely around the room. Keeping the gun aimed at the man on the bed, he silently approached the window. Outside he saw nothing. Still he closed the window, just in case.
Then Yoochun asked for a report and Changmin had to decide what to do. Leave or fight? They were outnumbered. Still he was determined not to lose this lead. He moved towards the man.
Outside, another armed man climbed up the fire escape. He noticed the other two guards had entered a different room and were now going to the corridor. He looked at the closed window and prepared to enter.
…
-Shit! Shit!
Yoochun was cursing. He was running out of bullets and still the men were slowly moving up the staircase. He looked at the corridor but the damn stupid thing had a fucking stupid corner and he couldn’t see the door to the room.
…
The three bodyguards outside thought they saw an avenging angel when Eric approached them, gun blazing, shooting the armed man who was forcing them to remain in the same position.
-Eric! Here! Help! They need to go see a doctor. I don’t know about Chun and Min. There are at least seven armed men closing in on them.
Eric turned to the two wounded guards.
-You, can you carry him and drive to Dr. Jin’s house? I’ve already warned him to be on standby.
The less wounded guard nodded. Eric turned to the other guard.
-Ok. Come with me.
…
Changmin kept his gun ready and ordered the man on the bed to get up. He ignored him, still looking highly amused. The young man tried to remain calm. He aimed and shot at the man’s shoulder.
-Move.
-You fucker!
-Move. Up. In front of me. You are going with us.
Suddenly, Changmin had to duck behind the thug as two armed men burst through the door and another through the window.
…
Yoochun heard a shot from the room and cursed. He wanted to go help Min but he couldn’t just turn his back on the men trapped in the stairs.
…
Eric sent the other guard to climb up the fire escape while he went up the stairs that led to the rooms. He came across four men hunched under fire. With no hesitation, he took advantage that they were unaware of his presence and fired.
Caught in a cross fire, the two men who were left standing after the rain of shots, escaped through a door leaving behind the other two.
Yoochun’s head peaked from the top of the stairs.
-Eric?
-Hi. Need help?
-Man, am I glad to see you.
-Really? Then don’t forget to thank your boyfriend. He was the one who sent me. What kind of mess did you guys get yourself into?
-We need to go help Min. Hurry up.
Yoochun took off running in the direction of the room, as Eric followed close behind.
…
Changmin lost no time deciding what to do. He shot two men down and kept shooting at the third one. But the thug decided he was done playing shield and jammed his elbow in Changmin’s stomach.
Thrown off balance, Changmin was incapable of escaping a punch to his face. However he soon was punching back. And he made sure to add an extra punch to the wounded shoulder.
The armed man who was still standing looked undecided at the fight. He couldn’t get a clear shot.
…
The bodyguard reached the window and reported to Yoochun what he saw.
-Yoochun. Changmin is fighting the guy. There’s another armed man still standing. There are two on the floor, they may still be dangerous.
-Got it.
Yoochun slowed down in front of the busted door and signalled what he heard to Eric who wasn’t wearing an ear piece.
…
Changmin was really pissed. In no way was he letting this thug escape. He needed answers and he was going to get them. However, even with a wounded shoulder, the man was putting up a good fight. The young man high kicked, straight to the head. The thug looked dizzy but punched his stomach. Changmin took the hit and aimed his fury at the thug’s chin and again on the shoulder.
Yoochun and Eric slowly walked in behind the armed man who still couldn’t get a clear shot.
In silence, Yoochun pointed his gun at the man’s temple. The surprised man dropped his gun and put his hands in the air. The bodyguard knocked him over the head and tried to determine from a safe distance if the other two men were really unconscious or faking it.
Eric signalled the guard at the window to come in.
Changmin noticed his friends had arrived from the corner of his eyes but he was too busy to acknowledge them. He aimed another few punches to the thug’s chin and head in a fast succession and finished with a high kick. As the man was trying to get up and hit him again, Changmin aimed his gun straight in between the man’s eyes.
-Forgot I still had my gun? Go ahead. I’m sort of pissed enough to actually fire.
The man looked at Changmin with murder in his eyes but remained silent and stood still. The tall bodyguard turned to his friends.
-Ok, let’s get out of here before someone remembers to call the cops.
-What do we do about these extras? - Asked Yoochun.
-Leave them. We don’t have time to worry about small fish. We already caught the one we wanted.
…
The two wounded bodyguards had taken the car Yoochun had come in. Changmin, Yoochun and the bodyguard got inside Changmin’s car with the thug, while Eric followed closely behind.
As they were turning into another street, police sirens were heard. Changmin cursed.
-Shit! Guess we really got out of there just in time.
..
Junsu called Dr.Jin to get an update on the two wounded guards. When Eric had called to say there was a gun fight and that there were at least two men injured, he thought he was going to throw up. Fortunately Eric had called again to inform that they were all ok and returning with the thug. Still, Junsu was determined to give some piece of his mind to those two idiots. He was going to yell at Changmin and Yoochun. Oh, yes he was. Specially his stupid boyfriend. How dare he leave him so worried for so long?
The bodyguard was surfing the internet, checking for old news. Jung Yunho, cop, was mentioned in an article about a shooting where a known sex offender died. The article was obvious leaked information about an on-going investigation. The way the story was told, apparently Yunho had murdered the creep. There were older articles, one for example mentioned the capture of a paedophile ring that had earned the cop a medal. Junsu read all of them.
A lot of the internet articles had information that was not supposed to be made public. Obviously there were some cops that were being paid well by the reporter.
A constant feature in the stories involving Jung Yunho was how the men arrested would always sport at least a black eye. Apparently that had gotten him in trouble with the police Internal Affairs more than once.
The last article about the death of the sex offender made it seem like the cop had followed a path to its conclusion, finally going to the point of killing someone. However, it made little sense that the cop’s gun was missing. Or that the sex offender was found unarmed, his gun floors below. Junsu wondered who was hiding evidence and why. Maybe this was why Yunho had been sent after Jaejoong. But how?
Reading and re-reading the article, Junsu finally noticed something about the pictures of the building and his stomach filled with ice. He knew that building.
