Summary:
Kim Jaejoong owns a construction company and that forces him to do business with the mafia even if he himself tries to remain within the law. However, some of the mafia men don’t appreciate that and keep threatening him. That’s why he hired Changmin, Junsu and Yoochun who are responsible for his security.
Jung Yunho is a cop specialized in domestic violence and sex crimes. During the chase of a sex offender he found himself thrown in a bigger investigation involving a paedophile/mafia man named Kim Jaejoong. As if that wasn’t enough he’s being framed for the murder of the sex offender and the mafia is blackmailing him with the evidence on his innocence to do one job for them: kill Jaejoong. Why? Because even the mafia wants him to bring down Kim Jaejoong.
And so their paths collided.

CHAPTER 11 - UNEXPECTED RESCUE
The kneeled man’s desperate attempts to breath reminded Jaejoong of his moans from the night before. Those sounds drove the slim man over the edge. He came quickly, hardly having time to enjoy being inside the other’s mouth. Frustrated, he maintained the bruised face close to his groin to force the trapped man to swallow. He ignored the painful hits to his hips until he felt the other man’s throat convulse.
When Jaejoong removed himself from the struggling man’s mouth, he wiped his cock in the man’s hair to humiliate him more in an angry gesture. Redoing his pants, he walked back to the chair, picked the phone up and sat, while he waited for the coughing man to recover.
It took Yunho a couple minutes to get his breathing back in control. He coughed and struggled to breath, he had almost fainted from lack of oxygen. Then he waited until the desire to throw up subsided. The cop forced himself to swallow the saliva in his mouth, fighting against the bile rising in his throat. The taste was disgusting. Using his t-shirt he wiped saliva and semen from his mouth and chin. When he felt he was breathing again he looked at the silent beast in front of him, who was sitting with a mask of patience in his face.
Jaejoong held out the phone.
-Here. A deal is a deal. You earned it.
Yunho grabbed the phone with shaking fingers and dialled his house number. He nervously prayed. One ring. Two rings… Five rings. “Someone pick up!”
-Hello? - His father’s voice answered.
-… - “RUN!”
The sound that left his mouth wasn’t even a whisper, his voice raw from the abuse. The second he tried to utter that single word, there was a strong blow to his head and the phone was taken from his hands. Before he could fully register what happened, Kim Jaejoong was closing the door and had left the room.
…
Jaejoong closed the door behind him and almost collapsed to the floor. But he remembered the cameras on the corridor and kept walking. The business man put on his best impersonation of a calm face and ignored his shaky legs on his way to the control room.
-Tell me we have a lead.
-Yes, Boss. We have now. And we have an easy job too. The number he dialled is a house number. We’ll get an address. It’s not listed but give me some time and I’ll get that address.
-What did he try to say?
-This is what we recorded. - Junsu pressed a button.
An old man’s voice was heard. -Hello? - Then a raspy sound, barely a whisper. Junsu replayed that part.
-It sounds like “Run”, doesn’t it?
Yoochun looked at his boss with a funny expression.
-What did you do to his voice, Jae?
-What? You wanted me to let him have a nice little chat?
-Huh? No, no. - Yoochun waved his hands around and finished with a cross sign.
-I’m going to rest. Call me when you have that address.
-Yes, Sir. - Yoochun said with a mock salute. Junsu kept his fingers working on the computer.
As soon as the door closed, Changmin messed his hair, annoyed. -I swear Jae has a pet peeve with that invisible dude there. - He said pointing to the screen, where there was still no sign of the man, even after Jaejoong had left the room.
-Come on, you expect bunnies and hugs with a guy who attacked him like that? -Asked Yoochun.
-No. But I have my suspicions on why their “talk”, or whatever it was, took place on that exact part of the room.
-Leave it, Min. Not our business. Besides we finally have a lead now.
…
Across town, alone in his apartment, Yunho’s father stared at the phone is his hands. He could swear he had heard something before the call fell. It had sounded like “Run” and the faint voice reminded him of when Yunho got sick and his voice would almost disappear. The old man wanted to call back and make sure but he resisted. Something told him that if it was his son who called, then someone else took the phone from him.
…
It was past midnight, so technically it was already Sunday. Jaejoong waited in the van impatiently as his men got ready. He wanted to tear out his own hair in frustration. Junsu had taken so long to reach his contact and get the address. The business man was sure that if they were in a tv show, with some clicks on the computer, they would have gotten the address in a few minutes.
The address led them to an apartment building undistinguishable from others. In the entrance hall, the apartment they wanted had no name to identify who lived there.
When they arrived on the floor a surprise awaited them: the door was wide open. Broken furniture was everywhere and an overwhelming smell of urine had them pause for a second. A faint gasp was heard from behind a sofa.
Changmin entered, gun ready and… froze.
-What?
An old man was half lying on the floor. His right leg was on a casket, his right hand too. He had a stuffed Bambi deer on his left hand. Further inspection of the apartment revealed a smelly adult diaper thrown to one side of what seemed to be the old man’s room. The bed had a wet patch near the edge and the carpet under the bed was moist. The rest of the apartment was empty, everything turned upside down. They focused their attention on the old man. The man’s pyjamas were wet as well. Changmin twisted his nose to the smell.
-Honey, you came home already? Did you receive the roses I sent you to work? -The man said with a wide smile, even if his eyes looked somewhat scared.
-Whaaaat? - The tall bodyguard’s eyes widened.
Yoochun and Jaejoong stood with open mouths. Yoochun recovered himself with a shake of the head and reported his findings to his boss.
-There is another room and the man’s clothes there appear to be the size of our intruder. We can’t find any pictures or any documents. No bills, nothing. There was a phone on this old guy’s room broken into tiny pieces on the floor. As for the phone here, the wire was ripped in half
Jaejoong squatted down near the old man.
-Hi, what is your name?
-My name is Thumper and this is Bambi. Are you a friend of my mother? Can you play?
The business man blinked at the man’s eager and innocent stare. He couldn’t believe this.
-Help me lift him off the floor.
When they got the man on the sofa, Jaejoong tried again.
-Hi, my name is Kim Jaejoong. I’m looking for a man as tall as this guy next to me, remember his name?
-You look like Tweety Pie. Can I call you Tweety Pie?
-Oh, God! - Behind the business man, both his bodyguards were struggling not to laugh.
-Who are you two? Are you new at school?
-Ah, yes, yes we are. - Jaejoong pointed to the phone on the nearby table. -Who called?
-Bambi called.
-Bambi. Off course. What did Bambi say?
-Nothing. Bambi can’t talk. He’s a deer. Hey, you are a bird, Tweety. You should not talk as well. How do you know how to talk?
-Look, Thumper. It’s Thumper, right?
-Yes! I play drums. When I grow up I will play in a band. Thump! Thump! Bam!
-Ok! Nice! Why is the phone broken?
-That is what I use to play drums.
-Ah? Really? And the furniture?
-There was a lot of drums.
-Anyone came here to play with you?
-All the friends from my school come to visit and… Oh, honey! You’re back! Did you get my flowers?
Changmin stepped back. - Is he talking to me again? Do I look like some girl, you crazy old man?
-Honey, are you still angry with me?
-Ahhh!!!!
…
Junsu and some of the men had tried the neighbours. Most of the apartments on that floor were not rented at the moment. The owner of that floor lived next door but no one knew where he was and they still thought that that apartment was empty. They managed to enter the apartment of the owner, some clothes were gone but they confirmed the man’s identity: Park Jung Min.
Sitting on the sofa in the old man’s apartment, Jaejoong was continuously combing his hair in a nervous gesture.
-This is too weird. Someone was here. Whoever it was they took off and left the old man alone after that bastard called.
-Well, you knew letting him make that call was a long shot. But still we are not empty handed. The guy next door is the owner of this apartment. Very convenient that he’s gone and no one knows where. His name seems legit, we’ll investigate him.
-Keep someone watching this apartment and next door too. If anyone returns I want to know. Now, let’s grab some clothes and a bag of diapers.
-What? Why?
-I can’t leave the old guy here. You saw him, he’s completely helpless. And how can you abandon your honey? - Asked Jaejoong with a lift of his eyebrow. -Besides, he’s one of our leads. Some hospital will remember a senile old man named Thumper who broke a hand and a leg. And it will be interesting to see what pet name the old guy has for our prisoner. Don’t you think?
-Oh!
-Min, remind me again why you have a reputation for smart? -Jaejoong asked with a shake of his head.
-Jae, that’s mean. - Changmin pouted, ignoring Junsu and Yoochun laughing behind his back.
In another half hour they were gone from the apartment. The old man seemed reluctant to leave with them and tried to stay behind. It took Jaejoong giving him the stuffed deer back for the man to calm down. Already in the van the business man eyed his new guest with a questioning gaze. He couldn’t decide if the old man looked nervous because he was scared of them or of someone else, or if the man was just nervous because he was being forced to leave his house with unfamiliar men.
…
Yunho had dragged himself to the bed at some point, he kept very still in a foetal position, eyes closed. His stomach hurt. His head hurt. His throat hurt. Oh, just forget it, his entire body hurt. And he was seriously hungry. The last time he had ate had been Friday night at dinner. Now it was probably Sunday morning and he had only drank water. The cop felt too weak. And he was struggling not to cry. His heart was beating desperately. He had called, alright. But the one word he so desperately had wanted to say didn’t make a sound. That bastard had left him with a sore throat and had taken the phone almost immediately. No way had his father heard him. Now he couldn’t decide what he was most afraid of: the mafia having done something to his father or Kim Jaejoong finding him. He was only sure that he was trapped, no one knew he was here, and if they didn’t kill him with beatings, they would sure starve him. God, he was so hungry.
A click was heard. The door opened. Two sets of footsteps sounded on the floor. Yunho kept his eyes closed, his breathing steady and his body immobile.
-Uau! God, damn! What happened to him?
-Donghae. Be quiet. Just put that down and let’s get out of here.
-It’s ok, Eric. He looks passed out. Ouch, who did that to him? Was it our dear Changmin?
-Dude, do you work here?
-Hey! No insults. My job description is more like peeler of potatoes and waiter to Changmin eternal food hunger. What has been going on? First, I am sent to bring food to some random room and I find an old man with a broken leg. He called me Bambi. Can you believe it? And he was holding a stuffed Bambi deer. It was soooo weird, man.
-Come on, let’s get out.
-Who is this guy? What did he do? Is he mafia?
-Out!
The body on the bed remained unmoving. There was a new smell on the room: food. Even with his stomach screaming for food, Yunho resisted. He needed to process what he had just heard.
