There's been a lot going on at Casa Moomba of late.

We just had the cherry tree pruned. I was starting to get very worried about how crowded all the branches were and how badly it was overhanging the sidewalk and front walk. Now it looks so healthy. But it's got a nasty disease that I have to be vigilant about pruning away whenever it crops up ( Read more... )

Last night we had a really mediocre steak, even marinating for hours really didn't do much. However, the sauteed summer squash with garlic scapes and some fresh dill (from my garden) was fantastic. When I wasn't passed out cold yesterday, I was lounging on the day bed and that seemed like a fine place to get a little embroidery in.

I'm biding my time at work until I get a particular email and I can go home sick guilt-free.

Here's the latest on the Plimoth Panel embroidery. I still don't think it's anything much to look at, but at least it's starting to look like *something*.

Despite my intentions, I did not work on the panel last night. That last leaf remains partially done. i'd really like to take some time tonight and at least finish the dark green part. It's *almost* done.

However, I did finish a favor and start a second. If I keep this up, I could be done with my packet by next week.

Despite my high hopes of getting a lot of work on the Plimoth panel done at K&Q A&S, I only managed to finish the 2nd leaf of the trefoil (the 4 colored one) and begin the final leaf (it's outlined and I started the fill). Pictures when I finish that troublesome leaf ( Read more... )

My Plimoth panel has been sadly languishing. I'm really looking forward to the event on Saturday because I'm just planning on sitting and embroidering. It had looked like I was going to have an aerial lesson in VT in the morning and then I'd come racing in for the feast. But the lesson is later in the month. As I posted earlier, last night I accomplished a number of the thing I needed to do, so I let myself do something I wanted to do -- work on my Plimoth-inspired embroidery.
