Embroidery Pictures

I'm biding my time at work until I get a particular email and I can go home sick guilt-free.

Here's the latest on the Plimoth Panel embroidery. I still don't think it's anything much to look at, but at least it's starting to look like *something*.

I'm not much of an embroiderer, which my following question will make plainly evident. I've picked up a kit of favors to stitch and now I find myself wondering what is an appropriate stitch to use for these? Please enlighten me.

I'm using stem stitch -- it's my default for outlining. You could also try backstitch, chain stitch (I tend to do reverse chain stitch these days), or split stitch.

oooh thank you! That's what I was looking for! All I could remember was backstitch and it wasn't quite working for me.

Aren't the favors fun?

I've decided I'm going to do most of mine "plain", but embellish some to make it a little more interesting.

I might do some fancier ones later in the season.

I have to tell you how deeply surreal it is to see someone sewing favors that have my initial on them... for me.
... even now... it's still deeply surreal.

Mistresss Ygraine did some fill stitch work on the cap of the mushroom which looked lovely on the ones she turned in on Saturday. That's at least a fairly small place to do extra embellishment if you wanted to play.

Thank you for donating your talent to the cause!

It's my pleasure. Maybe when I'm done my self-imposed quota, I'll take the time to do some fancier ones. That'll be fun.

I hate trefoils too.
And yours is much better than mine.

I've had a bit of practice with trefoils. : ) And I wouldn't sulk too much -- it's hard to judge quality from a photo.

Points, corners, colours - it's all too much!
