Sour cherry season is over. I still have several pounds of cherries in the fridge to process, but there are no more to pick. Yesterday the birds decided that this was Descend on the Cherries Day. On Saturday I made my annual pilgrimage to the Plimoth Plant Sale with ladysprite. Acquired: parsley, dill, mixed varieties of basil, rosemary, mint, gillifleurs, garlic, and one tone grape tomato plant. The ice dams are gone! And we don't seem to have any damage. Well, I did notice two huge slabs of ice on the ground under the worst one and some black mesh that I think was a gutter guard. If that's the worst of it, I'm jubilant. I heard too many horror stories this winter. Now I have to reel in all the deflated stockings ( Read more... )

Albert is a cat of ritual and precision. One of the rituals is that when new_man has a meal in the TV room, Albert gets some treats, which he loves, carefully doled out, despite Albert's desperate (yet adorable) snuffling at new_man's hand.
