Kirby's cage got cleaned on Tuesday. It's needed it--it always needs it--and finally the weather cooperated enough for me to drag the cage outside and hose it down. I saw my first chipmunk today, peeking over the side of the porch.

Dad and I worked on the flowers Monday night, making a border of pink flowers along the edge of the area we planted. Now that I knew what I was doing, I finished them off yesterday afternoon and evening. Behind the pink flowers--I think they're impatiens--I put a border of red flowers, also impatiens. Second in an apparent series.You can tell it's spring when the neighborhood cats start coming around. We saw one last week that was gray and white, and for some reason didn't seem like the regular cat that normally haunts our front porch. It's definitely animal week around here. After breakfast, I saw Chippy on the front porch through one window, then through the other window I saw two rabbits out munching on the front lawn. It's pretty uncommon to see one rabbit out there in broad daylight, much less two, and they were pretty content--one tried to settle in and I saw it close its ( Read more... )
