Once again, somebody was up to no good.
To say this year is flying by quickly would be an understatement.
Last Thursday marked my “Prodigal Daughter” return to higher education. The band new Des Moines Social Club is offering classes, and I am on the roster for the Film and Video course. Sometimes I think that I'm bigger than the sound.
There is a massive update in me on the verge of bursting (think of that scene from Alien where the little alien punches out if that dude's stomach.
So far the name-calling at school has been minimal this week. I am celebrating this small victory (pun intended) by going to rehearsal.

I may be small, but I am neither agreeable or compliant.
After a rather relaxing weekend, I am now preparing for a week of teaching 6th graders VRY SRS BZNES. I was referred to as "that midget teacher" last time I found myself in the classroom. If this happens again, I am reserving the right to just walk out if this happens again. That, or start throwing punches.

It has been a long and highly productive week. I got my tattoo and am worried I have started an addiction.
I have tomorrow off and am going to tuck myself in with a bottle of wine and Let the Right One In. Not a bad start to the weekend, eh? -
I'll come back stronger than a powered up Pac-Man.
All work and incredibly little play has made Niki a dull girl….
We’re only a couple of months in to the new year and about half of my resolutions have been successfully abandoned. I haven’t started yoga classes back up, I’ve made a much smaller dent in my reading list than I had intended, my longing to be reacquainted with theatre is still just that ( Read more... ) -
An ambition, I've found, can lead only to failure.
The trip to DC is now past tense and am back to daily grind. My flight got in around midnight and instead of having the next day off as I had plan, I actually had to work. A valuable lesson in daily schedule maintenance has since been emphasized.

I really like your shoes...
Airports are not impressive at 6:00am. In addition, I have worn the most lace-extensive Converse shoes. Niki: Spitting in the face of common sense in the name of fashion since 1981 (yes, I was born very fashion forward).
