First things first: I got a haircut.

The insomnia has kicked in high gear and I haven’t gotten over a few hours of sleep a night for the past couple nights. I would love nothing more than to say I have used my bonus hours for the sake of productivity/creativity, but have spent it watching really bad television. A controversial decision, to be sure, but one I stand by. I am switching between CNN and Headline News during commercials of

Yesterday was spent working in the classroom, and I would definitely have to qualify it as the most frustrating experience to date. I am sure that my feelings of annoyance were only intensified by lack of sleep. The day ended with two junior class boys getting in to a fight over something ludicrous and having them marched to the principal’s office - a first for me. Granted the fight deserved such action, but I found the remainder of the students equally draining and wanted to rid myself of them long before the outburst. Either high schools have gotten much more nerve-grating in the past decade or my patience supply is severely replenished.

I am thankful that I have had no technical work on my agenda for today, but did have a laundry list of errands to complete. On top of the run-of-the-mill errands, I attempted to get the window on the car fixed. Apparently some mechanism in my window broke, making it impossible to keep the window up. My sister and her family were in town for my nephew’s wrestling meet the day it happened (Sunday) and my MacGyver of a brother-in-law-was able to use basic tools and duct tape to keep it secure until a more permanent fix could be acquired. The shop I called to make the repair assured me they could get it in a fixed this week. Needless to say, my passenger side window is still framed in duct tape. It looks just as classy as it sounds.

The (holiday?) weekend has arrived, along with an impressive amount of snow. My plans? Nick and I have plans to see

I digress. While on the topic of all things “love” and the like, I have noticed that there seems to be a fresh crop of friends getting married and reproducing. We all remember the coup that was 2006: Get Hitched or Die Tryin’…welcome to 2009: Single Ladies (Except Niki) Have Put a Ring On It. I can only hope to reap the benefits of this by serving as Guestbook Attendant at a slew of upcoming nuptials.

I was thinking of making plans for tonight. However, the weather has made a night in with a couple movies and enough sweets to spur a diabetic coma an appealing option.
Millionaire Matchmaker. What more can I do?Friday the 13th, of course! Absolutely nothing says “Happy Valentine‘s Day!” like boobs and gore. I’ve never really been one to recognize Valentine’s Day in the average fashion and I see no reason to buck this trend now.

2006: get hitched or die tryin', friends, car, weekends, movies, 2009: single ladies (except niki) put a, hair, valentines day
