Canine intervention!
Josh and I took in a little lost dog last night. I'm not sure what he is - best guess is a pomeranian, although he's not a fluffball like those dogs generally are. He's very sweet and friendly and curious, and has no outdoor sense at all (we caught him after he ran into the street a few times). Good Things
I meant to post all week, but work was busy enough that I didn't have time, and I don't often want to look at a computer once I get home. Michelle & Mark's pool party last weekend was lots of fun. It's a girl!!!
Yesterday's ultrasound revealed that we are having...a girl! And more importantly, everything looks good / normal, and baby seems perfectly healthy. She's about 9 ounces, and in the 66th percentile for weight. Just where she should be. (It's a relief to know that she's growing just fine, despite me not having gained any weight yet). Josh hates me. He's going to GenCon this weekend, and his flight out on Thursday morning leaves at 6am. As in, We need to leave the house between 4-4:30am to get him there in time. AND his return flight gets in at 9:45pm on Sunday - right smack in the middle of True Blood. What did I ever do to him??
I will have my vengeance. Just you wait.

Everyone's heard about morning sickness, and food cravings/aversions, and mood swings. Most women know about the crazy hair and nail growth, the weird lattice of veins that begin appearing everywhere, the pains on the sides of the abdomen as the muscles begin to stretch.

Yay, weekend!
Josh and I just got a lovely last-minute invite from spooky_thing to go see Cirque's OVO in Boston tomorrow night. I'm so excited! It's been far too long since we've gotten to hang out, and I do love me some Cirque. It should be a blast. Some baby stuff
I had a really productive weekend. I did a lot of cleaning, and a lot of baby-room prep. I moved the bookshelves and desk out of what will become the nursery into other parts of the house. All that remains to be moved out is the futon, but I think I'll leave it in there for a bit longer, as we'll have several overnight guests in July and August, ( Read more... ) -
Yay, life
I had a lovely birthday/holiday weekend.
Friday evening Josh took me to the mall to pick up a few maternity clothes for a birthday-present (which I desperately need - pretty much nothing I own fits anymore), then we got dinner and had a lovely evening together.

Today, I am a happy girl. No, not just because it's my birthday (although that's pretty cool in and of itself - can't believe I'm 33), but today is the official first day of my second trimester.

An appliance bites the dust
Our refrigerator is broken. I wish we had realized it before going food shopping today. Luckily, the freezer still seems to be working, so we tossed some things in there. And friendly neighbors have graciously agreed to store our dairy/eggs and a few other perishables until we can get a new fridge. As much as I want to own our own home again, I ( Read more... )
