I meant to post all week, but work was busy enough that I didn't have time, and I don't often want to look at a computer once I get home. Michelle & Mark's pool party last weekend was lots of fun. It was great to see people, fun to be festive and social, and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. Fantastic! One unexpected pleasure: getting to know Samantha, some. I've met her before, of course, but we'd really never talked, and she is just amazingly awesome. Count on Ethan to find someone as awesome as he is. :)
Anyway, 'twas a good time, and I'm so glad I decided to brave the 5 hours of solo driving to go! Totally worth it.
Fall semester prep is in full swing. September is going to kick me in the face. But that isn't really a bad thing. :) I definitely feel less nervous going into this year - of course, I have a year under my belt now, rather than like, two weeks. But the start of the fall semester - including training two student crews and running the Campus Center - is a lot to juggle. Luckily for me, I love it.
In other news, today marks the halfway point of my pregnancy. Yay! I've started to feel our little girl move. Actually, I think the first time I felt her was the night before the ultrasound - but I'm not totally sure, because the fluttering I felt may have just been excited butterflies in my stomach due to anticipation of learning baby's gender. But since then, I've begun to recognize that it's her. She really likes it when I eat, by the way. After a meal, she starts doing a little happy food dance or something in there. It makes me giggle. I'm giggling all the time now.
good things,
