Everyone's heard about morning sickness, and food cravings/aversions, and mood swings. Most women know about the crazy hair and nail growth, the weird lattice of veins that begin appearing everywhere, the pains on the sides of the abdomen as the muscles begin to stretch.
But did you ever hear about the weird metallic taste you can get in your mouth in the first trimester?
Or how about suddenly finding yourself stuffed up with a runny nose for like, months on end?
Or the worst, having a headache that lasts 4 days.
This is my second days-long headache (I had one last week, too), and let me tell you, it's no fun at all. Tylenol, the only pain med pregnant women can really take, barely takes the edge off. I just talked to a midwife at the practice I go to, and she said that I could try taking Sudafed as well, since it's possible I may have developed some kind of allergies (I guess that can happen during pregnancy, too). And if the headaches still don't go away, then I should call my primary-care.
Other than awful headaches, things are great. The rest of me is feeling good, and I've started to develop a crazy Galactus-sized appetite, which is sort of hilarious. Not that I can eat a ton at once (my stomach is being squished!), but I WANT to.
And in 10 days...we find out the gender! If anyone wants to make a guess, now's the time. ;)
