I had a really productive weekend. I did a lot of cleaning, and a lot of baby-room prep. I moved the bookshelves and desk out of what will become the nursery into other parts of the house. All that remains to be moved out is the futon, but I think I'll leave it in there for a bit longer, as we'll have several overnight guests in July and August, and it'd be nice for them to have a whole room to themselves, rather than sleeping out on the upstairs landing (the futon's eventual home). We also put together baby's bookshelf yesterday - yay! Our plan is to put together a piece of furniture a week, so we still have the crib, the chest of drawers, and the changing table to go. Other decor can go into place later. Like, no sense putting the rug down now - the animals will just shed on it and I'll have to clean it repeatedly. I'll save myself a lot of work if I just wait and throw it down in December.
I'm enjoying starting to get energy back. It's crazy how overwhelming (and debilitating) first-trimester exhaustion can be. For three months, I literally had the energy to do nothing but sit on the couch every day when I got home from work. Couple that with morning sickness, and it was pretty hard to do anything for a while. But I'm bouncing back! And really enjoying the pregnancy. I'm even starting to show (ok, I've been showing for a few weeks now), which is a little surreal given that I haven't gained any weight. In fact, I've lost about 10lbs since becoming pregnant (which is fine - doctor says I may even lose a little more before I start to gain). I had gone to my last doctor's appointment last week expecting that I had gained, but nope - lost again. It's weird to simultaneously weigh less and have my belly stick out more. I'll be roly-poly any day now, it seems.
This is all pretty awesome :)
