Is it just me, or has it become an insanely virused-up site of late?

I just watched DA viruses nail a public library computer, and the staff did nothing but stare. I mean literally nothing, not even an emergency shut-down. After I warned them about the virus while they were watching.

*shakes head*

I was just cruising Tv Tropes, and to my surprise I found they had a listing for Gen Whitmore's 'Little Tales' webcomic that wasn't loaded with infantile and snarky comments (given her faith and politics).

However, they did link to one cimic that has me going, "Huh? Is this supposed to be for real?"

Does anyone know what this blasted "Java Virtual machine" is that keeps trying to upload onto my system when I'm online? Is it a virus or Trojan?

Of late I find myself telling a lot of folks on LJ that I'm glad to hear that things have gone well for them work or art or holiday/family wise, usually expressed as "I'm happy to hear that everything is going so well for you. Namely, a stalker is after her kids, and Facebook refuses to either shut her account down or give the cops any helpFacebook, what the heck is wrong with you? Granted that I doubt the 'stalker' is anything more than some net troll cackling over how terrified the poor woman and her daughters are, but he might be something worse. The computer problem seems to be settled (at least for now), but I still have the car to replace. Does anyone know of any trustworthy sites online where I can look for good used cars, or maybe even find abuyer for one that's (probably) going for scrap?

How many forums (most of the ones I'm talking about here are run by gaming companies, but I imagine it's universal) have you seen where they have an established, written-down code of conduct, that says "No one can violate with impunity, because you WILL be punished, no exceptions!
