I'm in the process of selling my old saddle (a Wintec AP I've been riding in for several years) and test-riding used saddles. I currently have a Crosby Wembley II on trial for the next week. I have a really old Pariani hunt seat saddle for sale that doesn't have any size info on it, and I don't have a horse to fit it to either! Is there a way to determine a saddle's tree size without either a) measuring the horse it's supposed to fit or b) determining it from the manufacturer's stamp? To get this out there; has anyone else gone from using a girth with 2 elastic ends, to a mohair / some other material girth with NO elastic?
