determining saddle tree size

I have a really old Pariani hunt seat saddle for sale that doesn't have any size info on it, and I don't have a horse to fit it to either! Is there a way to determine a saddle's tree size without either a) measuring the horse it's supposed to fit or b) determining it from the manufacturer's stamp? Not sure if this applies for hunt saddles or not. But...

When I measured my mare with a flexi-curve, I measured down the sides of the curve 8.25 inches and then measured straight across which gave me the approximate tree size she needed. I ordered that size in a dressage saddle and it was a PERFECT fit. I'm assuming you could measure the saddle the same way, but this again was a dressage saddle. If this doesn't help... feel free to ignore! Lol.
