Well. We all know that Percy has peach trees with more peaches than he knows what to do with, and he's been harvesting them and trying to give them to everyone, leaving baskets of peaches just about everywhere ( Read more... )

*Hero, of course (ought not eat unless it is given her) (ought not stray from the woman who is taking care of her), is wandering, and the peaches are beautiful (Percy works so hard on them), and she really can't help it--no one's watching, and they're beautiful--she reaches out and takes one, carefully, and bits, with a little guilty giggle, and--*

*and with a small squeak, she's hurrying frightenedly to find Rohana, because she needs new clothes*

Rohana is in her cozy little stone-floored kitchen, aproned and befloured, and is somewhat taken aback to be burst in upon by a boy in a dress.

Ari doesn't get all the fresh fruit she can eat very often. Especially not from fruit trees - so few of the early experimental ones are actually mature - and so it's really no surprise that she has spoiled half her meals with the things ever since she got here.
