I left for 10 days of vacations, leaving my much loved betta Colbert in the hands of my fish-unloving bf. He didn't even look at him even when feeding so when I came back I noticed he wasn't doing well AT ALL.

Hey all. My Betta Ripples has a lump on his side near his fin and a bit behind his gills. Could this be some sort of internal parasite or bacterial infection? I'm planning on moving him into a hospital tank, adding aquarium salt, and giving him a dose of Maracyn 2. It looks a bit swollen and Ripples is looking a bit pale. I'm running into a bit of a snag as I own four Bettas and need to figure out what to do now that I'm going away to college.  I already checked, yes, I can take them with me, but the trouble comes in two forms.  One is I need to find the right tanks for them for my dorm, which is a small space.  Right now, I have them in about a gallon and a half ( Read more... )

Okay I've got a question.. I've had Ickaba for almost a year or so, and I had him in a tank that was about 6.6 or so gallons or around that (Its a bookshelf tank from petco) and he was hiding alot wouldn't come up or out to eat at all so he's gotten really skinny, and his tail is all but gone again (tail biter).  So I've put him in a five gallon ( Read more... )
