For those of you that know me, I volunteer with a bird rescue agency called Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue. They take in sick and injured parrots in the SF Bay Area, pay for their medical care, and find foster/adoptive homes for the little guys. I hunted down Mom's room number and phone and finally got a nurse to bring her a phone. I've upgraded her condition to "perky" 'cause she sounds surprisingly happy and awake for someone who just had surgery. She finally got some food, and that cheered her up immensely ( Read more... )
