Wow. Yesterday was brutal. Got up at 3:45 AM, left the house at 4:30 with my Ride Along Coordinator (who totally rocked by the way. . . a Mickaboo bird rescue person!). Get our stuff at 5AM, and were at our first precinct at 6AM.
From there, we realized that only about half of our precincts had any sort of a clue how to run an election. Don't get me started on people getting paid to do things they simply have no clue how to do. We had to set up and tear down a whole precinct on our own because the team didn't even know what they had to do!
10PM rolls around, and we're *still* waiting for a precinct to finish that totally screwed up closing procedures. We finally made it home past midnight. *THUD*
I'm so glad so many people voted. It was great! But damn if we don't need to make sure that more people have a clue about procedures or November is going to be screwed.
Now, time for a well-deserved cup of coffee.
